What can you all get on AM 1080?

Here in Vermilion, OH it's 2 very weak stations beating against each other during the day, WOAP/Owosso, MI and WWNL/Pittsburgh, PA. From my location, nulling one nulls the other so you get both at once. At night it's kind of a sloppy mix with WTIC/Hartford, CT usually on top.
 
In Knoxville, WKJK, Louisville, (the old WKLO), with it's nice southeast pattern daytime and sometimes (though only 1000 watt at night). Otherwise WTIC at night.

In Dayton I really can't think of anything daytime, but there used to be a 1080 in Sidney (WMVR). Tight directional null protecting WIBC on 1070...you could see the towers and not hear the station to the west. They shot almost all their energy east and north. Partial Pre-sunrise, tied to WTIC
 
In the near north Chicago suburbs it's WNWI Oaklawn, Il all the time. Years ago it used to be a battle between WTIC & KRLD at night with WKLO popping up on occasion.

In So-Central Colorado, nothing days and a strong KRLD at night. In ancient times when KRLD would sign off occasionally, I could get WTIC. Heard WKLO (now WKJK) Louisville a time or two.

A few decades ago KRLD used to simulcast their progressive rock FM in evenings. Anybody remember "Montage" with Dillon?
 
Far northwest suburbs of Chicago....

Days: WNWI, Oak Lawn, IL. 3kw ND from a little over 50 miles away. Fair signal.

Nights: Still WNWI. 2.6kw, but aimed in my direction. KRLD occasionally underneath. WTIC less often. Before WNWI signed on, KRLD and WTIC would be the battle of what was left of two giants. KRLD usually got the better of it. WOAP from eastern Michigan would sometimes put in an appearance around sunrise. I'm not sure if they're still on.
 
Location: W. Washington.

Here it's mostly KFNQ 1090's IBOC. Generally it coats everything on 1080 and 1100. Difficult to null.

Even more difficult to null if they don't switch patterns.

Sometimes KFXX makes it through the hash N-S on 1080. I used to hear KVNI Coeur D'Alene also. Plus KRCO Santa Cruz, although I've never been able to get an ID on that one.
 
In St. Louis, 1080 kHz is WRYT Edwardsville, IL. Until recently the station was daytime only, but recently added a nighttime signal. It runs EWTN Catholic programming. Before the night signal, KRLD could be heard, along with HD hash.

Oh yes! It was really good, and had quite a following in Midland.
 
Weak KRLD, with some crosstalk from a local 1070 in Houston daytime. The Northern parts of the metro area here, like Conroe, get pretty good KRLD reception. At least they do when HD is off.
 
Not much here in Columbus.
Daytime, it's pretty much silent. I believe you could hear traces of WMVR here during the day, but that's been so many years ago that I really can't remember for sure.
Nighttime, it's not much better. WTIC is very weak, weaker than I remember from 20-25 years ago. I have heard KRLD here once, back in early January 2007. It was around sunset, certainly before their pattern change, on a rainy Friday and it was coming into the Columbus area very well. I have tried since and never caught it.
 
Days I hear a weak WKJK from Louisville.

Sunsets brings WTIC, WKJK, WYHY 1KW non directional from Cannonsburg KY, and of course KRLD as the others fade away.

This should be a pretty good sunrise and sunset frequency for me. I'll have to give it a try.

I heard WKJK once during an aurora maybe 9-10 years ago. Only time I have caught it in Columbus although in my defense, I haven't tried often.
 
From Lake County Indiana, WNWI Oak Lawn Illinois comes in loud & clear. At night, the signal aims mainly north of Riverdale Illinois (where the tower site is located), & it's splatter on the Indiana side.
