From NW San Antonio:
Daytime: Heavy splatter from 10 kW local 1160 KRDY, which is just five miles from me.
Sunset: KFAQ comes up, with XECD "La Romántica" in Puebla often under it. On rare occasions it will come to the fore. XERT "Ke Buena" in Reynosa sometimes pops up underneath as well. I can lessen the splatter by aiming NW, and narrowing the bandwidth helps. Using the sync detector on my Sony ICF-2010 almost totally eliminates it.
Night: KRDY drops to 1 kW, but there's still a lot of splatter. KFAQ dominates, but XERT is stronger and sometimes takes over.
My Sangean HDR-16 can detect KFAQ's HD signal at night, but it has only fully decoded once, and that was just for a few seconds. Otherwise I just get the flashing HD icon.
Sunrise: Pretty much the same as nighttime, with XECD coming back weakly when it goes to day power.
