AM Frequency of the Week - 1320 kHz

What do you all get on 1320 AM?
Here in Vermilion, OH, it's all local WOBL/Oberlin, OH with country music. I have heard other stations under them at night but haven't had any luck IDing them yet.

Here in Thornville, Ohio, it's semi-local WLOH (Lancaster, Ohio) days and total mush at nights. At one time when its tower was along U.S. 33 northwest of Lancaster, WLOH dropped to 100 watts at night and still be could across all of Fairfield County. At some point around 2000, the tower was moved to the east side of Lancaster, night power dropped to 28 watts and it basically became impossible to hear the station clearly for more than two miles. It was basically gone at the former tower site. I think that situation has improved in the past few years, but I no longer work in Lancaster (I did from 2000-05) and can't testify to that.
At any rate, WLOH now simulcasts on 104.5 FM and is heard well throughout its county.

From Fresno/Clovis, 1320 is blocked by two locals, both less than 5 miles away KWRU 1300 (Spanish Christian) and KCBL 1340 (Fox Sports Talk).

Wellsville, NY
Days: nothing...Used to hear WJAS late afternoons (during the winter months) until they moved their stick.
Nights: a mess!
WHHO Hornell (15 - 20 miles north of me) used to be a local until the FCC yanked their license, due to unpaid fines.

From Lexington, KY 1320 kHz:

Daytime:

WBRT Bardstown, KY
WCVG Covington, KY (weak under WBRT)

Night/DX:

WILS Lansing, MI
WJAS Pittsburgh, PA
WISW Columbia, SC

Sunrise/Sunset:

WGOC Kingsport, TN
WENN Birmingham, AL

local Pittsburgh station WJAS, from their new transmitter site near
the Pittsburgh Zoo.

Northern VA,

Very weak WVNZ from Richmond with some splatter with local WDCT 1310 or very weak WGET Gettysburg, PA daytime and nights, it's a mess with WJAS often on top.

Lately, in Central VA its been WJAS, Pittsburgh. I never hear Richmond at night and I'm only north of the city by 20 minutes.

In Bothell, WA it was CHMB Vancouver days, sometimes KXRO Aberdeen, WA.

Bellevue, WA I hear bleed from 880 KIXI, or a weak KXRO Aberdeen, WA, during the day.

Nights I hear CHMB, KXRO, and KCTC Sacramento, CA (Sports).

During the day, nearby KLWN Lawrence Kansas booms in with 500 watts of news and lots of Jayhawk sports coverage.

At night, it's a mess, with occasional visits from KWHN Fort Smith Ark and Chinese language programming from KXYZ in Houston TX.

Far northwest suburban Chicago

Day: WKAN, Kankakee, IL. Very Week
Night: Mess, WILS, Lansing, MI used to be regularly on top...now it's more of an occasional visitor.

From Gibsonville (Burlington), NC

Days: A Very Strong WCOG Greensboro (16 Miles Away)

Nights: Slightly Weaker but predominate WCOG

I also picked up WVGM from Lynchburg, VA one night in December.

From NE NC car radio. Sunset and night WJAS Pittsburgh and WCOG Greensboro.

Nothing on 1320 days, lots of sideband signal from WGH 1310. They seem to be using some type of pre-emphasis on their audio processing. Not IBOC, just a lot of sideband energy that wipes out 1300 to 1320. They actually have the best sounding AM around.

SW Ohio

Day
WCVG Covington KY "Gospel 1320" Towers are just across the river from Cincinnati in Latonia KY, and a few miles from my listening post.

Night
WCVG Covington KY The noise threshold is high, and the signal suffers as a result.

Have not stopped at 1320 long enough to listen for other stations.

I think the Richmond station operates only on days.

R/L shows WVNZ/Richmond, VA operating at only 8 watts at night with the signal pretty much aimed towards downtown Richmond. I'm curious to know how far that signal travels without interference at night. Maybe 3 miles?

With the Tecsun PL-390 I just bought I can null out local WOBL at night enough to hear CJMR/Mississauga, ON

In Bellingham, WA it's CHMB, Vancouver 24/7
