AM Frequency of the Week - 1350 kHz

What do you all get on 1350 AM?
Here in Vermilion, OH it is a moderate WARF/Akron, OH with sports. At night I still get WARF barely noticable above lots of other UNid stations.

On a recent trip to Indianola, IA., 1350 is local KRNT from Des Moines with an easy listening/nostalgic format.

Bellevue WA
1350 days is usually nothing, however I have logged KRLC Lewiston, ID many times at solar noon during the winter.

Nights it's KRLC, KTIK Nampa, ID (Sports) and KSRO Santa Rosa, CA (News/Talk).

Northern VA,

Days, rather weak WNTX fron Fredericksburg, VA, 30 miles to the south with 1 kW days. It does News/talk/sports, and I sometimes hear WOYK from York, PA underneath.

At sunrise/sunset it's WNTC with ESPN WOYK and WGPL Portsmouth, VA with urban or gospel format.

Pretty much a mess at night.

The first AM frequency I was ever employed at at WCSM in Celina, Ohio, which had an interesting pattern that went mostly north and east as a daytimer. We ran a test overnight and many reports from the east coast, mostly under Akro0n (WSLR at the time).

That pattern does not go south and west much; Dayton in the daytime if anything is WCHI Chillicothe but with 1340 in Springfield iBocing, it's not too common. Nights, usually the current occupant of 1350 in Akron and a handful of others.

1350 always has come well in St. Marys daytime, but at night it's nothing. You can't hear a thing on that frequency.

The overnight test was many years ago with the full 500 watts and was announced in DX publications. I used to be able to get a weak WSLR in the Celina/St. Marys area back then. I can imagine with all the flea powers that there's nothing but jumble. I could get WIOU, Kokomo with WCSM nulled in Coldwater. I can remember decent daytime car reception of WCSM up to Ottawa and bowling Green back in the day. Heading up I-69 past Ft. Wayne during the day would bring a mix of WCSM and WIOU

In Memphis 1350 is totally obliterated day an night from splatter from local 1340 WLOK, which in my location is the strongest signal on the dial.

Growing up in NE Ohio that station will always be "Whistler Country" to me. For many years it was the only country station in the entire Akron/Cleveland area.
