@ Marcos C .....
Yessir. WAWZ and WBNX had very similar pattenrs, however.
At night, anyway. Both stations (each with their own xmtr site) wanted as much of the 5 NYC Boroughs as their coverage allowed.
WAWZ ran a lot of low audio, which made for better DX by us near JFK Airport. WBNX seemed to send their loud audio right down our street in Queens.
WAWZ's huge 99.1 *FM* now makes the NYC ratings on a steady basis.
Some other tidbits you're no doubt aware of ; others here might not be :
WAMS in Wilmington Delaware, 115 miles away from Columbus Circle, was required to adjust their own basically South signal a few times each day to accomodate / protect the two different xmtr locations and leap-frogging signals of the time-share 1380 NYC stations .....
Reportedly, the COL of Zarephath NJ didn't exist when the station was licensed, and that the FCC / FRC somehow overlooked the fact, or issued some form of religious dispensation. Word has it that the station site was a church in a cemetery at the time, and the resulting COL had a population of 69 as of 2020 .....
The two share-time NYC stations were directional in such a similar fashion that CT Listener's local WNVR/WOWW on 1380 was able to broadcast, and with its own nighttime signal as well.
