AM frequency of the week 1550 KHZ

I noticed that KGOW has a pending application to address the daytime skywave issues inherent with higher frequencies like theirs as well as some stability problems. It involves extending the height of the center tower of the northern three to match the height of the southern three in the array, along with changing to a series-fed operation and reducing power to 46kW. Just how much this would improve their local coverage remains to be seen, but it would mean that the "swamping" of smaller, distant co-channel stations by KGOW's daytime signal would likely be substantially reduced. If so, it's too little too late for poor little KNGR 1560 in Daingerfield, over 250 miles distant. It's off the air because of money problems and the fact that KGOW rendered their signal useless during critical hours, which in the cooler months amounted to about half the day.

Bristol, Connecticut:

Day: The new WSDK 1550 Bloomfield, CT - This former Radio Disney O&O returned to the airwaves about a month ago under new ownership (after being off the air since October) and they're a Christian Station now, with a local morning show 5 days a week 6AM-8AM. The best part of the new ownership is NO MORE IBOC!

Night: Mix of WSDK and Canada.

Early Morning Hours: Mix of WSDK, Canada, and WNTN Newton, Massachusetts.
