AM Frequency of the Week - 1650 kHz

What can you all get on 1650 AM?

Here in Vermilion, OH it is blank during the day. Near sunset I usually get WHKT/Portsmouth, VA. Nights usually a jumble between WHKT, KCNZ/Cedar Falls, IA, and CINA/MIssissauga, ON

Far northwest suburbs of Chicago....

Day....blank

Night KCNZ, fair-good. Have heard what I presume may be CINA underneath.

SW Ohio

Days
Nothing

Nights
KCNZ & WHKT+ CINA

Wonder why we Midwesterners never receive the stations in El Paso & Denver?

At night it's usually difficult to get anything other than KCNZ here. I've pulled in Denver a few times and finally bagged the California station last November just before they powered down - that was a rush! The only 1650 that I haven't heard yet is El Paso, oddly enough.

In northern VA, I don't get anything on days; on evenings/mornings, I get WHKT in the Norfolk, VA, area, and nights, it WHKT and what may be CINA as tonight, I heard some dance music underneath WHKT. I haven't heard anything else yet.

Located in W. WA.

At night, I've heard a couple TIS's (Vashon Island WA and North Bend WA), and also have heard KFOX, Torrance CA, and KSVE, El Paso TX.

In Monroe, WA, I get nothing in the day, and at night receive a very weak KFOX Torrance CA or KBJD in Denver.
I used to receive a small Redmond, WA TIS when I lived in Bothell. I can't receive it anymore here in Monroe.
In Bellevue, WA I also received the Vashon Island TIS station.
Once I get down toward Renton I can get the City of Kent TIS.

I might have gotten KCNZ Cedar Falls but never got an ID (sports one night). I've never received KSVE.

From NE NC...days 1650 is WHKT Portsmouth, VA...I'm about 50 miles from them and it is the only X band station I get here regularly in the middle of the day.

At night, it is a tossup between WKHT and KCNZ in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

At sunrise/sunset, 1660 from Charlotte, NC has IBOC that obliterates any reception on 1650 (and 1670) just about every day. I guess I'm just the right distance away for them to boom in during critical hours (about 225 miles). They sometimes are 50 dB over S-9 on my radio.
