From NW San Antonio:

Day: My local, KTSA, which is 13 miles to the east. I've actually logged a fair amount of DX on 550 despite KTSA's proximity.

Night: When KTSA goes to night pattern, I can get a slim partial null of it aiming NE/SW. I regularly hear a weak XEGNAY in Tepic, Nayarit, in/out. Sometimes I'll hear XEPL in Ciudad Cuauhtémoc, which airs a Mennonite-language program some nights. On occasion I'll hear very weak fadeups of KFRM in Salina, KS.

Sunrise: KFRM can be heard stronger for a while in the null when it goes to day power. Also, XEPL is usually heard more steadily (but still weak) later when it goes to day power.

DX: I've heard KTRS and KCRS twice each, the latter a more significant catch since it was under KTSA but not in its null. I also logged Radio Rebelde once, which was on the same night I last heard KCRS.

Last February, San Antonio had a rare winter storm with two snowfalls and temps in the teens and single digits for almost a week. KTSA and a few other stations were off air during part of that time. On the the night of the 15th, I heard some of the stations listed above with better signals, and I logged KFYI in Phoenix and and KRAI in Craig, CO (both with weak signals), which wouldn't be likely with KTSA on.

Retro: I've noted in the past that my maternal grandmother used to live down the street from KTSA's towers. You could hear KTSA faintly along with the dial tone on her telephone.

I was hearing R. Rebelde fairly regularly on 550 at night while I was at our beach location on the west end of the Florida panhandle last month. No trace of it during daytime.
