AM Frequency of the Week - 610 kHz

I always noticed KONA seemed to come in way stronger the closer you are to the Puget Sound shore than anyplace else up here. Weird.

I caught KFRC often in the early '80s. Then KONA sorta took over the frequency in later years. I'm not sure when exactly.

KONA - in the daytime? I always got a super-faint carrier off of KONA at noontime. Sometimes in dead winter I could hear more than just mumbling, but usually it was a threshold. I should try at Edmonds sometime.

When I start hearing KBHB on 810 at 6AM again, once October/November comes, I'll try for KVNU.

From their license on file @ FCC
July 6:00 AM MDT Logan time
October 7:45 AM MDT
November 7:15 AM MST

Far northwest suburbs of Chicago.....

Day: WTMJ splatter & hiss
Night: KCSP has one of the better 5kw skywave signals here. Usually alone on top.

Finally one of these I can contribute to...

From Perth, Australia, Voice of the People from Ho Chi Minh City on 610 creates a regular het on 612 Radio National down the road in Dalwallinu Western Australia. Sometimes in the winter (i.e. now), I can get some audio, mostly VV talk.

For some reason, although most of the Viet stations switched to 9 kHz spacing with the rest of Asia, this one stayed on their 10 kHz spaced frequency.
