AM Frequency of the Week: 610

Speaking of 610, when I was Kansas City in 1999, they had an excellent country station- WDAF (in stereo) on 610KHz with a "W" callsign to boot, but about 2001-2003? flipped it to sports, lost their heritage "W" callsign on 610AM and was assigned the proper "K" callsign for the new sports station. It was a shame, as it was a real top-notch operation, a WSM of the plains states. I think they moved the heritage call to the FM at least. Anybody in KC that can say what's up now with 610? Is it just an 'as-ran' sports station now?

I'm not certain, but I beleive the WDAF calls are still being used on what used to be the co-owned TV station on Ch 4. I was in KC to spend the night a couple of months ago, but I didn't watch any TV.
