AM Frequency of the Week: 680

@MarioMania - Can you pin the current frequency of the week thread at the top for at least a week going forward? That way it won’t get buried under older threads that have recent responses. Thanks.

680 San Antonio the other night wasn't coming in at all here in the Austin area.
Instead, was getting Red Eye, strongly, so assume was KFEQ, a big Midwestern powerhouse.
As it was a ways from TOH, didn't stay round to find out, but assume San Antonio, a country station, I assume doesn't air Red Eye, which I found too partisan. Constant jawboning about how bad the other party is and only their party is right. A real turn-off.

Here in Wood Dale, IL in the near NW suburb of Chicago:

Daytime: nothing but splatter from the nearby (5 miles away) WSCR 670
Nighttime: usually CJOB, sometimes WCTT with oldies format or WPTF

DX/RETRO: CFTR and WPTF used to be more common in the past. Others heard in the past include KKYX (San Antonio, TX), WCNN (N. Atlanta, GA), WMFS (Memphis, TN), WOGO (Hallie, WI), WDCB (Escanaba, MI), WJIE (Newburg, TN), WBCM (Baltimore, MD), WNZK (Derborn Heights, MI). Radio Nacional de Colombia from Barranquilla heard several time in the past 2 years. KNBR is one station that has eluded me so far on 680.

In north suburban Chicago: I like listening to CJOB on nights when it does come in, typically a few times per week. Also hear WPTF occasionally. On two occasions during the past year, 1 or 2 nights after a major solar flare, I’ve heard Radio Nacional de Colombia from Barranquilla. Had the presence of mind to record an ID on my iPhone on October 11 2024.

Clifton, New Jersey

Days: I get nothing during the day.

Nights: It's usually WRKO Boston, MA. I have received WPTF Raleigh, NC, WCBM Baltimore, MD and CFTR Toronto, ON in the past.

From the southwest suburbs of Chicago ...

Nothing new on 680 here since 2019, but here's the list:

KNBR San Francisco (1,795 miles, during old co-NBC-owned WMAQ Monday morning silent periods); CFTR Toronto (25 kW nights); WCBM Baltimore (5 kW nights); WPTF Raleigh (50 kW nights); KKYX San Antonio (10/31/2015); CJOB Winnipeg (many times since the first catch 10/21/2018); and WCTT Corbin, Ky. (830 watts, 11/9/2019 at 2 a.m.).

Most times, day and night, it's San Antonio, TX, here in central TX on the northeast side of Austin suburbs, but, sometimes, at night only, I get KFEQ. I can recognize the farm programming.
