AM Frequency of the Week: 810

Day time::: Unfortunately KGO

Night time:::Unfortunately KGO!

Do to where the towers are from me, their 50K watt signal just overwhelms anything else. Forget about 800 or 820, the splatter is just to ridiculous to DX any adjacent frequency's.

It's a shame about KGO's programming though. Even though I did not agree with the politics of KGO back in the day, It was entertaining to listen too. Gene Burns ( RIP ), Chris Clark, Bernie Ward, Gil Gross, Bill Wattenburg and even Karel were all entertaining to listen to. I agree, its just a bunch of hot air now.

Can't believe I never replied to this one. 810 is one of the few frequencies for me where I've got more than one regular catch in the evenings.

Daytime in Baldwin Co., Alabama it's nothing. But as soon as the sun starts to set, WSJC Magee, MS or WCKA Jacksonville, AL will waft in to some degree. After dark I've also heard WGY and WHB, much to my surprise. WHB is much more common, though.

Never logged ZNS-1, sadly.
