40 miles Northwest of Downtown Chicago....
Days: Not a lot to see (or hear) here. 840 is almost always blank. Sometimes during winter, however, a weak WHAS can turn up on daytime skywave.
Nights: WHAS with a good signal.
Other Location: At our beach location directly on the Florida-Alabama State line at the Gulf, 840 is a weak-fair signal from WBHY. Mobile. 10kw non-directional from about 45 miles away in Mobile, Yep, 10kw in an area with lousy ground conductivity doesn't exactly accomplish all that much. At night WHAS owns 840 with a solid skywave signal. Spanish underneath from time to time.
