AM frequency of the week-920khz

(I'll try to limit myself to just one this time! :))

What do you guys get on 920 AM?

Here in far northwest suburban Chicago, daytime, it's a weak WOKY from Milwaukee (one of the stations I grew up with as "the mighty 92", a top 40 powerhouse). An even weaker WBAA (Lafayette, IN) is sometimes underneath. The WOKY 5kw day pattern throws a major null towards WBAA which adversely affects the signal here.

At night, WOKY sends more juice in my direction despite going down to 1kw. That's usually just enough to keep it on top of the slop, although WBAA occasionally surfaces. KYFR and KDHL have also been known to show up. And "back in the day" CKCY was a regular nighttime pest. (Sault Ste. Marie, ON...now dark).

WOKY, CKNX, and WMNI are the three that can be received in the daytime. CKNX seems to be on day pattern these days even at night, as WOKY pretty much disappears at sunset. Used to be WMMN in Fairmont, WV would blast in at night with 5000 watts directional, now at 200 watts nondirectional nights, it rarely makes an appearance. Used to hear CKCY also at night. WOKY blasts into much of Western and Central Michigan alone in the daytime. You can hear it as far East as near Flint regularly, at least you could in the null of the old three tower array of WFDF just a few miles away. You could probably still hear it near there if the IBOC is off on WFDF.

Being about 30 miles SE of Cyberdad I receive WBAA over WOKY daytime. In the old Top 40 days of WOKY I would try very hard to hear it, but rarely could I get it at my QTH. WBAA was all over it most of the time then and now. At night pretty much the same with a few others in the mix.

WBAA W. Lafayette IN - Weak days & nights

I've also heard once or more time...
WGKA ATLANTA GA - Sunset
CKNX WINGHAM ON - Sunrise
WTCW WHITESBURG KY - Sunrise

Here in Pickerington, Ohio ... of course it's local WMNI, but with a relatively weak signal. Even daytime, WMNI is quite directional to the north over Columbus and beyond. Their towers are at the west corner of the 71/270 intersection in Grove City (SW suburb of Columbus), and WMNI is so directional that you can hear yourself going through the nulls on the other side of the interchange. It's truly impressive.
You can't get WMNI for any useful listening as close as 15 miles east of me.
At night, forget about WMNI. I rarely listen anyway, but the times I have tried to hear it, it's at best fighting to be heard and at worst buried in mud.
I was driving up U.S. 23 north into the city one Friday night a few months back, and even seeing WMNI's tower farm off to the north-northwest, it was 1-2 on a scale of 1-to-10 until I was practically right on top of Scioto Downs, maybe 3 miles from the towers.

In eastern Iowa:

Daytime: just carry-over from local WSUI on 910. Nighttime: CFRY Portage la Prairie, MB, sometimes KBHL Fairbault, MN.

Just slop from KGME-910 here in Phoenix.

From Central Mississippi: KARN Little Rock. Used to come in good. Lately its been getting harder to pick up.

Here in my section of W. Washington, during the day it's KGTK Olympia w/ talk.

At night it's KXLY (News-Talk) Spokane and KSHO Eugene (Oldies & Standards). KXLY has a local talk show at night, which is a bit unusual.

Sometimes CFRY from Portage La Prairie, Manitoba makes it through also.

KXLY by day (and night). Nights it's KXLY mixed with CFRY and KSHO. Also heard have been KIHM Reno, KGTK Olympia and KVEL Vernal, UT.
