Here, 40 miles northwest of Chicago during the day it's a fairly quiet spot sandwiched between two Fair-weak signals. WNTD Chicago (950) and WHA Madison, WI (970). Around sunset, WSBT South Bend, IN sometimes sneaks in while still on 5kw day power. But the pattern does not favor me.
At night, there's no one station that rises to the top on a consistant basis. I've heard WSBT a couple of times as well as WERC from Birmingham, AL. But the best catch in recent years has been CFAC from Calgary, AB. Not a regular by any means, but I've heard it 3-4 times in each of the past few winters. I'm guessing they may be using "hockey power".
