The rules have to be written and then posted in the Federal Register. They take effect 30 days after THAT point.

"Nighttime AM IBOC approved - final IBOC rules adopted"

"Usually, this kind of proceeding takes effect 30 days after publication in the Federal Register; said publication will take between a few days and a week. So one might expect AM stations to begin operating in digital mode at night in about 5 weeks, around the beginning of May."

Those of us in the business don't put a lot of faith in "Blogspot.com" That's because andyone who can afford a dial up connection proclaims themselves an expert.

Forgive me if I do not accept some fool's drivel as reality. When I hear it's OK from our washington attorney or the FCC or someone who matters I might start nighttime operation . Until then, opinions are like ... well you know...

"American Bandscan"

"A site for unusual long-distance reception of regular domestic AM & FM radio and television stations. Associated with the American Bandscan column in Monitoring Times Magazine."

Oh well that's different. I thought they we're a bunch of people who had a passing knowledge of what reality was. Little did I know they we're actually not publishers "OF" a DX magazine, but actually only THE WRITERS of a DX Column in a magazine. Still... Monitoring times, that's impressive.

Notice they know so little about this, the first thing they do is quote "Radio Ink". Awesome. Radio Ink. An actual magazine with actual subscribers... not a column written by a bag boy at the local Sack and Save.

Or we could just wait for the official notice.
