AM HD In Hartford

For the one or two of you in the Hartford area who have HD receivers, I'd appreciate a reception report on WCCC (AM), 1290. We've just put the HD back on and are in the process of fine tuning it. Keep in mind that we're stuck with a 490 watt AM signal (much lower at night) so if the HD gets out more than about 5 miles from our Avon Mountain transmitter site during the day I'll be surprised.

Since we took our AM HD down prior to 910 turning theirs on, this is the first time that there are 3 HD AM stations on in Hartford (the third of course being 1080).

If HD is supposed to be so good, then why does 1080 AM sound so bad all the time? Plus the IBOC hash destroys 1060 and 1100 AM. :(

Wow 5 miles??

Im impressed.... Your wasting alot of time and $$ on what maybe 2 listeners?? (Plus screwing up the airwaves with that crap)

Its probably more like 10 listeners but you're absolutely correct, lots of money for a small return although the classical music does sound pretty decent, esp in stereo. I'm not a fan of HD AM but the owner wanted to give it a try and its my job to make it work to the best of my ability.

We have more people listening to Beethoven Radio on our 106.9 HD-2 signal which has much greater fidelity and gets out 30+ miles.

There are actually four HD AM signals now on in Hartford, I left Radio Disney, 1550, out of my previous post.
