Even if you can't get around your hatred of or indifference to S&V...this is a major story because it highlights the ever-increasing trend of the devaluation and elimination of talent (I don't regard hourly workers who watch a computer screen and read liner cards over ramps talent - sorry). Longevity, name recognition, fan base, ratings history, they all mean nothing anymore.
Radio only does 3 things, entertaining/informative talk, music, and commercials. Listeners despise commercials, the entertainment/information is being eliminated, which leaves music...the ONE area where terrestrial broadcast radio can't possibly compete with emerging technology, aggregation and customization.
