AM I the only one who thinks Preston and Steve aren't that great?

After I finally rid myself of that garbage we call XM(another post for another time) I spent a week checking out the so-called greatest show in Philly radio. Howard Stern hasn't been funny since Artie Lange and his but-kissing zoo type show began, so I wanted to see what you guys were talking about. I must say it's not awful, not great, just average. I could care less about "Lost," what the zany "street team did" and the on-going joke "You rock, woo hoo! Rock and roll!" was killed the 10th time.

So where do I go for morning radio? Am I missing something?

I think Steve Morrison is the funniest person that I have ever heard. His brain just works so fast and lets them go rapid fire that Preston has to reel him in sometimes.

I know a bunch of 35 year olds that think P&S are funny.

I agree with you, they are an average show. They are not even in the same league as Opie and Anthony, although they try to do a version of that show. Steve has some ability but he's not even close to the talent of Anthony Cumia, not even close. Preston's smug and it's annoying. The rest of it sounds like every other morning show in any market trying to appeal to a male audience.Typical and nothing special.But they may win in Philly because once Stern leaves there will be nothing else to listen to.

I haven't listened to P and S on WMMR since they started..
I did on Y100.. Steve is funny but he has to interact with Preston
and others which makes the show drag for me.

I don't think there's any morning radio out there that would statisfy
my craving for cutting edge comedy or thought provoking commentary.
Most comedy bits sound lame that come from services on barter played on stations all across the country.

I remember listening to Barsky on MMR which had some original work that made me laugh. I loved his parodies. He even played demo tapes from comedy services and made fun of them. I wish some station would hire him and let him have creative control over his show.
And Stern like you say hasn't been funny since Jackie the Jokeman left.


I just listen to KYW in the morning. I go to comedy shows..or buy tapes of comedians. There's no funny morning radio out there ...Just accept it..

No. They are very very average. Steve is absolutely awful. Now that O&A are on mornings I hope Steve can make time to listen to them in between his own breaks to find more bits and voices to rip off. LOL! He's terrible. Preston is just your typical "radio guy" whose average at best, but would be okay with a better sidekick.

They fit perfectly with MMR. They're really bad, aren't really good. They'll fit in well with the MMR "we're happy with being mediocre" attitude.

I'm 42 and I think they are funny. Caseyboy is a riot, too.
