Am I wrong, or...

Won't our first PPM numbers be released on Thursday? If so, any thoughts on what we might see?

If the other markets are any indication, WRVR will be #1 or darn close. The AA percentage of Memphis may supress that, though.

The demise of FM100 was apparently greatly exaggerated…I hate it for WDIA, though. WEGR must be happy…and WQOX and WEVL show up in the ratings. Wow.

The real question is will we have any stations NOT playing Christmas music next season? Or will 'RVR just start in October?

Heh. With these numbers, could they be the first 12-month Christmas music station?
;D

If you look back at October, The Q was doing well. Stronger than in the diary. But they're on a big downward spiral since then. Radio Now having an impact? Looks like it.

Hallelujah FM's ratings really increased. That was as big a surprise to me as WDIA's fall. I was at WPLX at the end of Fred Cook's run there. The format has changed quite markedly since 2000.

Does WDIA's decline have anything to do with the infamous Thaddeus Matthews at WPLX?

Well, if it did, it would only stand to reason that WPLX would have strong numbers (assuming WPLX has a PPM™ encoder). They, in fact, have a Ø in December. Further, it would be reasonable that WDIA's numbers would have suffered when Mr. Matthews was on KWAM, a station with a better signal and marginally better numbers.

Sadly, what seems to have happened to WDIA (and WLOK, BTW) is that the change in methodology exposed that the stations had a significant "paper" listenership. Diary keepers, it would seem, just wrote those stations in due to top-of-mind recall, whether they were actually listening, or not.

As an aside, according to Mr. Matthews, WPLX should be #1 by now, correct?

WPLX is #1 in low-brow radio. With that incredibly low power at night, WPLX might as well be what it was at AM 1170, when it is was a daytime only station. I hope Bill Pollack is getting his money from Thaddeus.
