AM IBOC

Either you're completely wrong, or completely insecure about your position. Your post count tells the story. Instead of posting a bunch of links, I'll watch you self destruct as HD Radio keeps moving.Anyway, if you're right...why are you arguing? That's what I thought. I'll just keep reading and smile!

Obviously, you haven't read the articles under, "iBiquity Financial Mayhem". I am making a lot of noise because, "I'm lov'in it" ! Most of my posts are directed at linked articles, so how could I be wrong ? I am not arguing, just posting links to professionally written, factual articles. Boy, I'm sure smiling, after I read those articles ! ;D

Yea, HD radio is moving away, towards the toilet !

What part of "Intel Invests in Ibiquity" don't you get? A major infusion of capital plus a joint venture to develop new chiopsets...

The "article" you posted is wrong and whacked. There is no element of truth in it.

This is like your "CPB Investigates HD" when the real story is that PBS is looking at what the effective coverage of HD channels is using better techniques than the defective receivers that were on the market up till now.

I believe Intel over you. I believe the information from PBS rather than you.

You have just been caught in two enormous lies.... iBiquity just got a huge capitañl and technology infustion, and there is no CPB investigation. Now, try to correct your figure on the HD licensing fee. That is wrong, too.

Blah.. Blah... Blah... :D

Back up your post with facts - let's look at one of today's posts from, rec.radio.shortwave:

The arguments about IBOC are not on target in my opinion, mainly
because they aren't really "arguments". David Eduardo will come here
and say absolutely anything to get people worked up. He doesn't care
about the state of AM or the nature of IBOC. He cares about saying
absolutely anything that will ruffle feathers, period. A few of the
people on here got fed up and razzed him and, to be honest, I'm
grateful to them. This group does not have a moderator and so we have
to do whatever it takes to keep assholes like Eduardo from hijacking
the group. Otherwise RRS really will become useless.

I still hold out the hope that someone will start a group that's just
like RRS, but that's moderated. Then we won't have to tolerate any of
this BS.

--> I will continue to say this:

1. There is no listening to adjacent channels in the local market. So nothing is being interefered with, FM or AM.
2. FM HD offers additional channels and expands the available formats and alternatives.
3. HD is free once you haave the receiver.
4. AM HD sounds infinitely better than AM analog. Engough so to perhaps let AM ride with HD and not die, which it will do and is doing, otherwise.
5. FM HD sounds better than analog. Start with the fact it has no preemphasis curve.
6. AM HD is signidicantly immune from man mande noise, and in many cases extends the usable coverage of AMs in noisy environments.
7. iBiquity is in excellent financial conditions, adding staff. The partnership with Intel will help the technology.
8. The marketing of HD began two days ago... so stop the "where are the radios" stuff... we are in the 3rd day of the general public campaign.
9. 1000 on air stations and over a thousand more signed. Most in the top markets (60% of US populaiton is in the first 50 markets) for almost total coverage by the viable technical facilities.
10 245 HD 2 channels already, in just 6 months.

Congratulations! You've just shown an unbelievable (well, actually very believable) amount of immaturity in one post.

Guess you're running scared now.

No, it is just showing that David's posts are getting very boring and repetitive. I have seen David posting on two other boards - and as one person here mentioned, that fact that David is posting at 4:00 AM, means he is running scared.

These are simply not true, and every article that I have posted, and there are many, including comments from rec.radio.shortwave and various blogs, dispute eveything he says - can't you tell, that David is running scared ?

When some one says what do you get when you add one plus one, there is only one answer. The real problem is that some people refuse to believe that they could be wrong when faced with real facts and not the opinons of those with an obvious adjenda. (No, not the pro IBOC realists. In this case it's those who want the IBOC boogie man to go away. Sorry, IBOC is hear to stay.) If you want to talk debt look at XM & Sirrius. Now that is debt.

If you read the articles in, "iBiquity Financial Mayhem", especially the Washington Post article, you would figure out that iBiquity and HD Radio are in real trouble...

That would include the major broadcasters as well. It's their money behind IBOC. In the end, IBOC is going strong in NYC with more stations coming on line all the time. We now have two stations running HD 3 stream. One is...Oh my WNYC (a major CPB station. I guess they haven't read your link either), they've just added a HD 3 stream. Guess they did that because their dumping IBOC real soon.

Consumers are not buying HD Radios - the only reason broadcasters are using IBOC, because they were bullied into it by the likes of Clear Channel.

no HD radios = no consumer interest

How do youn know this? C'mon do you work for Best Buy or Circuit City? Maybe a local appliance shop. Let's be real. IBOC radios far outsell Wi-Fi radios. Did you forget about them already?

No...he'll tell you all about the ONE Best Buy that he walked into that had an HD radio in back that wasn't plugged in and nobody knew anything about. He then extrapolated that into "Consumers are not buying HD radios".

What a rocket scientist. If there aren't many HD radios on the streets(right now there is only the Receptor available), then of course people aren't buying them! Truth is the BA radios are selling quite well - which may be why there was only one left at Best Buy!

I also find it very interesting that he mentions that nobody wants HD radio. Yet the only "facts" he can use are links to other people who say "nobody wants HD radio" yet provide no facts.

Like I've said: This guy is doing more to help HD radio than I could ever dream of doing!
