AM Jazz stations

As I read on another post, one AM Jazz station is no more. You can't always go by listings on Radio-Locator, but only 1 AM Jazz station is listed. It is the famous one, KRML 1410 in Carmel. Think "Play Misty For Me." Listened to it for awhile today. I love it. Its jazz blended for California, not for major cities like NYC, St. Louis or Chicago. It has a West Coast sound that could also appeal to smome SJ fans like myself.

On the schedule page, nothing is listed, so I assume there are no longer any live dj's. And I heard nothing but music, not at all like WRTI in Philly, which has a live (and lively) night time dj.

Does anyone know of any other AM Jazz stations, either the real stuff or SJ?

There WAS KJZZ 1540 AM Seattle (1981-1985) They were an early Smooth Jazz radio pioneer and at one time, the ONLY Jazz outlet of any kind in Seattle (if you wanted your jazz on FM, the only outlet was Vancouver's CJAZ 92.1, which had a phenomenal signal that easily covered Seattle as well as parts of Tacoma and Olympia......)

On the smooth jazz front there's KQJZ in Kalispell, MT, a BA SJ affiliate. It also simulcasts on an FM translator. There was one in Reno, NV as well but its future looks to be in doubt.

I also know of at least one NPR non-comm AM that features traditional jazz. Purdue's WBAA 920 West Lafayette IN features jazz weeknights from 9pm to 5am (until 7am Saturdays and 6am Sundays). IIRC, they used to be a full-time jazz station, but are now NPR news/talk during the day.

Even a BA feed only at night is better than nothing at all.
