AM Music Productions Spring '97 Demo Reel

Some early spring cleaning here at the facility has revealed a six-cassette "Spring '97 Demo Reel" from AM Music Productions. It features radio ads from the mid and early '90's plus some bits of demo music. Free to whoever asks nicely and will promise to encode and post the commercials so we can all enjoy some sort-of vintage commercials.

I either never heard from LITTLEBOYBLUE or lost his contact info. I just sent him another message about it but he never responded.

These six cassettes are still up for grabs unless LBB contacts me in the next week or so. Original rules apply, you have to share them publicly or with whoever wants them.

I'd do this in a heartbeat but I haven't owned a tape deck in years.
 
Tapes are here ... and I rebuilt the digitizing machine (thanks to Win 10 upgrade it didn't recognize audio input anymore #$(*#%#$&%#$%) so it works again. With rainy days ahead I should be able to do this in near future....
 
WIn 10 HELP

LBB's comment about struggling to get Win 10 to recognize audio is exactly my issue. After pulling some strings at MS to get some direct help all I ended up with was "...contact Audacity!".

ANyone else have any experience that might be helpful...?

I wound up having to load a Game layer (XBox) that made Audition see the audio input. Then had to go through after that was installed to be sure Windows, Audition, etc. all thought the default input was "Line in".

Didn't find this through research...was after I completely rebuilt the Windows install and started Audition that the Game utility tried to install itself....Hopefully you don't need to do the whole install step.
 
You shouldn't really be using the "line in" 1/8" jack for quality audio actually... This is what USB audio interfaces are for. Decent units can be had for under $50, actual quality for under $100.

So one option, then, is don't listen to the files when they are posted!

You're so right...USB input through a Behringer UCA222 analog to digital unit. Still nothing...but working on it.
 
Hey LBB, Thanks for the pro tip... I was trying to be helpful but I guess in true form snark rules. I'll keep you in mind for any future engineering needs.

Wasn't COMPLETELY trying to be a jerk...your suggestion (appreciated) came off more of an admonition that attempt to be helpful.
But I appreciate the offer for engineering -- could use the cash, as I am apparently supposed to sink upwards of $100 into some new audio capture gear!
