"AM NEWS TALK 1360" Returns

As mentioned on PBRTV.com and on the official WMNY website, AM NewsTalk 1360 has returned. Any thoughts on how it will do its second time around?

Eventually these brokered biz-talk deals all run out of money. This will just be a bunch of syndicated stuff, basically to keep the transmitter on while they figure out if anyone else will buy blocks of time.

Maybe some of the Mon Valley oldies crowd can move to a full-time signal.

Tube city Almanac had "The History of WMCK 1360". It stated that when the Transmitter site was Built, The engineers used Electrical North not true North to set up the Direcional arry, Thus Lossing Pgh City Night Coverage. Now that the Nighttime transmitter is Done Maybe they can Rebuild the Tower Site and Regain that loss?

Why bother.

Same as before

I can't see them doing as well as before with no local talent
(unless someone can explain to me how Rusty Humphries outdraws
Doug Hoerth in this market)

Also the crappy night signal will continue to hobble them.
They really should consider 250 W nondirectional from Glenwood.

Their night signal is supposed to go north and south, not towards Pittsburgh. What is there is what they are licensed for I was told.

They also cannot get 250watts from the day site due to stations in Ohio limiting them to far less power than that if they licensed it I was told, they have to stay directional if they want to stay on the air at a decent power level. If they are operating under an STA then that is only temporary, 970 has been doing that with them having signal issues as well.

I reckon WMNY is going to need new call letters for its third-tier talk format... hey, are the WURP calls available? ::)
