is it me or everytime i see a topic/dicussion thread and its about AM radio i move on????? especially about a radio station higher than 990 am.

sorry, but look at ratings, only 1 or 2 am radio stations have a clue....

It would also help if these non-Orlando market stations would have their topics posted in the Florida State part of the boards. Examples...WINV (Inverness), WMEL, and 1060 WIXC are Space Coast properties that belong under the Florida section. It would be nice if the moderator would move them or better yet, people who post them put them there in the first place.

Here is where that snoozer material should be posted.

As long is there is not a "Space Coast" Cocoa, Melbourne, Titusville Board, Thank you, I'll post on this board as long as I like. As for the AM posts, if you don't like them, don't read them. Most of us on these boards started on AM'ers before FM was making a dime! What stations do you "Rookies" work at??

BIG APE!

Sorry, I'm not a rookie, only a few years your junior and I NEVER got fired from any radio station. Long time broadcaster who spent many years at legendary FM's in Orlando (BJ 105, Mix 105.1, XL 106.7 and Star 101, then WJRR).

AM posting is fine, but these stations don't perform well and based on listenership I was just making an opinion. I grew up on AM radio in the 70's too. Heck, 95 LOF was, in my opinion, a terrific station until the FM's came along....

;D Jim Dunlap at WQAM in Miami once told me "If you have never been fired and shown the door from a station, you probably wasn't worth a damn"!

This post is not topical to anything related to radio other than an opinion. I know alot of people who check in here to see whats going on the radio scene, especially AM. Lets move onto a topic please.

Mr. Hand, will you let me graduate, please Mr Hand? Sorry, I couldn't resist. Relax pal, its all about opinions. No harm done........love Spicoli

Gee, I though these boards were all opinion anyway..If ya want facts, pick up a copy of R&R..If the topic is nothing to do with radio, why does someone reply? Anyway, I'll conform. Would you like me to teach you how to run an EANS Test..tune an AM Xmitter, take field strength readings (Does anybody still do that or fake them like we always did?)
burn palmetto frons between the ball gap on an antennas? (God, I'd forgot about doing that) OK Mr. Hand, tell me what ya what to know and me and my buddies will try to get you up to speed.....BIG APE!

;D No Problem, Mr. Hand, Hang in there ..Something will eventually turn up after me and the rest of the "old farts" go to Hillbilly Heaven"

I believe the reason topics relating to the non-Orlando Central Florida AM stations were posted here is because the Orlando Board represents Central Florida radio which Inverness, Cocoa, Melbourne, Daytona, Leesburg and the like are a part. And, in my opinion, since the Space Coast and other smaller Central Florida markets do not have a seperate Board, it appears to make common sense to post here...

Right on Mark. I would seem that more is happening in Brevard than Orlando, so what would it take to'
have a Brevard/Spacecoast board?

My best guess would be for someone interested in starting a Spacecoast Board contact the moderator(s) inquiring to what it might take to start such a forum... The contact information is located on the Boards Home Page...

::) I don't see what it hurts for a few "Old Farts" to post a couple of items that relate to AM radio in Brevard, Volusia, Indian River counties or whatever. If it bugs Vadar so much, he can do what most people do..Don't read 'em. I agree, there's more going on in those counties than in Orlando.
