In recent years, many AM radio stations have ditched HD radio operations. A few notable stations that have ditched HD are KFI, WBBM, and WCCO. But those are just a few stations. Is there a AM station that has ditched HD in your market?

Two of them in the Seattle area ditched HD a couple years ago, right after I got an HD capable radio. KKDZ 1250 and KFNQ 1090. They both sounded good on HD, though.
I think a couple other stations north of Seattle still have the equipment but apparently have switched it off. One of them did an all digital experiment a few years ago.
