AM Radio

I was thinking of changing my AM presets on the car to take off KFWB since I don't like talk rado. But since I am not religious, speak english, and am not a big sports enthuisast, I think I am left with one AM button on KNX and one (if I really get desperate) on Radio Disney. I think that says something :)

Sounds like you’re a big all-news guy! I would add 740 KCBS since that station is all-news and comes in pretty clear at night throughout the Southland. KOMO 1000 is another all-news night-time option, but that station's clarity is definitely hit or miss.

Try KOGO/600 AM if you can get it!

But KOGO is essentially a talk station like KFI.

KOGO is all talk, most of it syndicated: and much of their news - which is short headline stuff - is done by the KFI news department. They are a waste of a button.

Maybe he should find a Spanish-language religious station and expand his horizons on a couple of fronts.

Well, until Saul flips 540/1260 again....then (depending on what he does) you might have four!

Ed Krampf is an idiot...like this market needs another talker? And Dr. Laura is the anchor for your whole station? Puhleez! Hasn't the guy wrecked enough radio across this country?

Okay...three. And you only had to wait 3 days!

Hmm, you will definitely need to expand beyond LA county to pre-set 6 AM's without Talk, Sports, religion or foreign language. If you like to drive all over the "extended" LA area, try these 6 presets:

1070 KNX LA (news)
1220 KHTS Canyon Country (AC)
1260 KGIL LA (oldies/standards)
1350 KTDD San Bernardino (classic country)
1450 KVEN Oxnard (oldies)
1510 KSPA Ontario (standards)

You may also want to add:
660 KTNN Window Rock, AZ
If you can pick it up, they have a mix of country (old and new, plus syndicated programing) and Native American music.

I have listened to KTNN. Commercials in Navajo are really interesting. The native music can get addictive as well. The country music, not so much. Also listen to KCBS and KOMO as well as KSL (and the other way round, listen to KNX in SLC). I can get more, but they are mostly repetative with the syndicated programs. But KTNN has the most distinctive sound on AM in the country. Any more and this will be moved to the DX board :)
