AM receiver frequency response

Take off your engineering hat and ask yourself how far down the radio is on someone's list of features on an automobile. I've bought two (used) cars in the last five years, and I didn't check the AM radio for quality before buying either time...

Just bought a used 2010 Mazda CX7. I'd read all the specs online. And I did an extended test drive.

But my wife had to laugh when the salesman first sat us in the car. He was busy with the details of how she can link her cell phone into the car radio via Bluetooth and listen to Pandora and iHeart. All while I was powering up the radio and tuning to AM. I'd done a complete band scan before he'd finished his streaming audio via Bluetooth talk.

By the way, the AM section on the Mazda sounds pretty sweet.

You should have asked the car salesman, "Where do you insert the credit card?".

On the subject of radio features, my Jeep Commander radio and no doubt many other Chrysler products has two presets for each preset button.

What that gives me is 12 presets for FM without changing preset groups and another 12 presets for the AM band.
