AM Reception from the West Coast

I'm located in Columbus OH. My car (2000 Buick Regal) radio pretty much stays on 1160 AM to listen to Oldies 1160, WDJO, in Cincinnati. WDJO's nighttime 990 watts barely make it in Columbus in the morning and the station is normally overridden by WYLL Chicago. This morning at 7:00A WDJO was overridden by a relatively clear KSL Salt Lake City - first time I've caught that station in many years. Since it seemed that a western US signal was coming in well I tuned to 1070 and immediately logged KNX Los Angeles, again for the first time in many years; I heard their station ID at least a half dozen times. Then I tuned to 680 and KNBR San Francisco (logged previously) was so loud that I had to turn my radio down.

1160 in Salt Lake City is 50,000 watt KSL, owned by Bonneville Broadcasting.
