am reception

Among the 50Ks, I have not been too impressed with the Chicago stations for a month or more. Some nights, they sound normal here in Ohio (normal is to say they are strong). Other nights, even WMVP hasn't come in too well.
One big anomaly I have noticed is KDKA. Some nights, it blots out WBZ. For years and years, it's been the other way even with Pittsburgh being a little less than 200 miles up the road. KDKA's signal usually has been terrible in this region, certainly during the day if not at night.

On balance, it seemss a little off to me. But I'm not ssure if that's conditions or ambient noise coupled with some channels being more crowded than "back in the day". On the other side of the coin, I've had several new catches during the past few months.

This last AM DX season has been mediocre for me. I quit tuning around about a month and a half ago. Lost interest. Not just the conditions (hearing the same 300 stations night after night does get a little old) but other things going on, too.

The irony is that last spring and summer had a lot more going on compared to previous DX off-seasons.
