AM Reception

I just don't know if it's my Tecsun PL-310ET is wonky on AM or just conditions isn't right, I'm hearing Hash though the AM Band except Locals & Semi-Locals

One of my followers on Twitter/X is reporting Auroral conditions from about an hour ago. He's from Minnesota, though. That could be why the AM Band is mainly locals and semi-locals tonight. It happened to me back in May. I even got stations that I would only get during the daytime at night.

Conditions have been mediocre lately. So it wouldn't surprise me. I heard a lot of noise in the AM band earlier this morning.

My Tecsun PL-310ET got dropped by accident on hardwood floors, now AM only works with locals and semi locals, most of the band is hash

Earlier tonight the AM band was terrible for AM DX reception, with very few exceptions. Noisy, with some usually strong regionals not appearing.

Shortwave, FWIW, was even worse.

Although XEPRS is peaking up behind the local (KPTR) on 1090 now and then, with Spanish talk. I used to hear XEPRS a lot stronger in years past, though. Their signal levels dived during and after the Solar minimum.
