AM reception

Interestingly, they are licensed ND day @ 50kW, nite @ 52kW DA to compensate for phasor losses.

Dennis Normally in Hermosillo, the signal is crystal clear from late afternoon until 6 or 8 in the morning, even more so now that local station XEHEEP 650 stopped broadcasting months ago. But I'll check later.

And it does not recognize a high power station on 660 in Mexico City!
For a very long time, IMER's AM stations haven't been broadcasting at full power due to electricity costs and reduced budgets. Furthermore, several frequencies have been added to their towers in recent years. In fact, stations like XEB and XERF are being neglected by the current 4T government.

I wonder if not enough data is publicly available to calculate the theoretical patterns for the Mexican stations as the few DXer oriented resources tend to omit the patterns for Mexican stations.
The now-defunct IFT was in the process of updating its data. It asked all broadcasters to update their coverage patterns using a scheme similar to the FCC. But now that the agency is under federal control, in the hands of the Mexican government, and not a separate entity like an "institute," all that work has been thrown away. Of course, for many Mexican engineers, this was great because they were very reluctant to hand over information.

I was in Santa Ana several times back in the 70s, working for OIR. On one trip, I remember a airbase and saw F4U Corsairs taking off. That was so cool, to see those planes still in service!

Not much to do with radio, tho...
