AM Revitalization plan

In Reading radio information from Around the country I'm seeing AM Radio stations Picking up FM Radio Translators and downgrading their AM facilities. Reducing day-and-night time powers . ie KCMC reducing from 1,000 watts fulltime Directional to 680 watts day 68 watts night nondirectional.

KCMC lost their tower site back in 2017 and is duplexing on KTFS's tower, so that was probably a little on the unwilling side to have to reduce power and change from being a class B to a class D. However, there do seem to be a number of stations that are taking advantage of now having a translator and voluntarily reducing facilities, especially if it means getting rid of a DA.

WVAM 1430 Altoona is dropping its 3 tower 1 kw nighttime signal to 25 watts non directional and adding An FM Translator .
