We're using Tascam tuners to monitor our AMs. They're rack mounted with the processing and comrex interfaces, but no computers. Audio is fed over T-1, no STLs. They are pretty much worthless other than punching them up on the board to see if we're on the air or not. The noise floor and hash (no IBOC) is so hi, you cannot actually monitor with them. Pretty narrow bandwidth too. Different antennas don't help. The studios are about 5 miles from the xmtrs, so it's a decent signal.
Any decent tuners with noise blanking available with a decent bandwidth? Any other noise reducing ideas?
