Folks, I hear and I check on www.yes.com and I enter WADO-AM and I check on Mon., Tue. and Wed. 12-4AM song played that Amanecer 1280 is gone by Mon.-Fri. and Recuerdos 1280 with Hector Campos aired in place. Have WADO lost the rights to Amanecer 1280 by playing Classic Regional Mex Music on late nights?

It shure looks like it. I would have tought they would have done something like Salsa. They have a Regional Mexican and splitting the audience would nt help them one but, But then again, it is at night.

Overnights on WADO have been the most schizophrenic thing I've ever heard. Shows come, shows go, they rent the time out to some Bible beaters who are gone after a month....oh boy.

Here's an idea, you programming "whiz-kids" -- pick up some satellite material from Radio Formula (a Mexican talk radio network). Like...La Mano Peluda, for example.

It's radio, not rocket science! ::) :p

The Radio Fórmula shows have never gotten ratings in the US except a tiny showing on the border in McAllen and San Diego, and that is gone now and only for one show. Mano did OK five or six years ago and back, but not today. It's obviously gotten old and tired.

Rogerio has rented time in markets like Phoenix and Chicago, etc., to run RF shows, and never made a cent. Most of the content is too focused no just on Mexico, but Mexico City, to be relevant in the US.

There is a ton of salsa on WCAA and WSKQ; It's been pretty well tested that salsa on AM will not get numbers unless there is no FM alternative.
