Amanpour Demands "This Week" Relocation To NYC

Well that sure seems to confirm every nasty rumor about her that's been
floating around for years. You would have to be out of your mind to move
a POLITICAL NEWS SHOW out of Washington, DC. I agree, she probably just
signed her exit visa.

A request is one thing. Demand is quite different.
I agree with other posters that Amanpour's future as host of "This Week" is on thin ice.
ABC has a number of qualified people who could host that show; and for less money that Amanpour is making.
Another factor is the ratings the show has since she took over hosting duties. Does anyone know if they have increased or declined?

Yes - including Jake Tapper, who was doing a great job (IMO) as fill-in between Stephanopoulous and Amanpour. I understand why they chose her - they wanted to make a splash with a big name. I had always highly respected her reporting on CNN - but she's out of her element as the moderator on a "talking heads" show. Tapper was better.

I watched Amanpour on This Week a few times, then went back to Meet the Press, which I had largely stopped watching after Tim Russert died. David Gregory is fine, but so is Tapper.

Also - considering the show's mainstay is interviews of important Washington DC politicians and government officials, it makes no sense to move it to New York.
