Hey, anything new going on in Amarillo?

Yes..it has officially become one of the most stale, least versatile, and over-saturated markets one could encounter. Who needs 4 country stations? If you like new music and variety and you live in Amarillo, I hope you have satellite or use online radio.

iPod Nano,
and streaming my winamp to my iPhone.

KISS FM sounds really good right now. Who's that guy who's consulting? Hmmm, what's his name?
Oh yeah... Bob, is it?

LOL

I agree Kiss does stand out from the rest of the market. They stay very creative with their promotions and bits, and they do the most to interact with the community. Hats off to Bob. They also keep it live and local from midday all the way through the night, which is more than nearly all other local stations can say at this point.

Yes those folks at KISS are precocious little scamps! And even with the rolling avg they pulled a 7.3 up from a 6.4 in last book "condensed market survey" we all see on all access and here on radio info (Spring 2012 was actually a down book for KISS and an up book for Rock & Kar as most know)...puts KISS somewhere around a 9 in all actuality for the Fall 2012 survey...and their direct competitors, The Beat, go 7.4 to 7.3 on the rolling average..about a 7.1 in all actuality for the Fall 2012 survey. Bob Mitchell consults them...I know Dallas very well he tells me quite a bit and I can tell you this, that team is not stupid. Very interactive, very well connected with people in the community, they stay creative and fresh and they are on top of new CHR/POP and Rhythmic music...that entire staff is great people and they take their radio station very seriously.
