Amazed at the number of XM subscribers

I went from 4 subs to 1 sub - I'm still waiting for the big huge playlists to return to the Decade's channels - that would make me happy again! The Bridge plays a bigger selection of 70's music than the 70's channel does!

Also, if the DJ's to shut their yaps unless they're talking about the song, not useless jokes.
The only XM/Siri GOOD 'yappers' are ALL the DJ's on "Underground Garage" who actually tell you very detailed information about the artists, producers, recordings, etc, as well as Phlash & Brucie on the 60's, but that's where I draw the line on useful info.

I'd add Nancy Sinatra for her show on SIRIUSly Sinatra as an SXM gumflapper providing a marginally useful service with her yapping. Ditto Dylan and Petty back when they were actively generating new programs.

I have never considered "Siriusly Sinatra" to be a good Adult Standards channel. I've done the format and that ain't it.

I think that the strength of satellite radio is that they DON'T adhere to traditional over-the-air radio formats.

And yet ironically they are in exactly the same place as OTA radio, in terms of growth and revenues. Maybe even a bit worse.

I think that listeners are discovering internet radio. That would include me.

And the irony there is that the music royalties are such that the more successful internet radio becomes, the closer the station comes to bankruptcy.

And that will happen to OTA as well. The music industry is cutting its own throat.

I never said the channel itself was particularly good (all those hours wasted on Jonathan Schwartz are testimony to that), just that her contributions to "Nancy for Frank" enhance the listening experience in ways that most SXM deejays don't. You have to go back to the ancient On The Rocks XM channel for an example of how the format can be done well on satrad -- and also done fresh.

...you're paying with the time you spend listening to commercials. How much is your time worth?
I said this same thing to everyone, but I rarely have to these days.

I remember emailing one of the 60's on 6 guys shortly after the service began, that "some day, when you have more listeners than WABC, WLS, and KHJ combined had...".
