Amazing band opening

I live in the northeast and About 3am this morning from about 150Mhz up thru the 500's were open like i havent seen it probably ever!!

I was hearing stuff 250 Miles away on UHF,it was totally exciting and awesome!!

I wonder if 3 meters was open overnight (88.1Mhz to 107.9Mhz)

I started hearing SPANISH CHATTER on a local frequency (In the 400s) and i went scanning and couldnt believe it!!

TV Channels 18,20 and 21 were coming in,it was unreal!!

This sure doesnt happen very often!! (UHF opening up)

Yeah, there was a great tropo opening this morning. I heard stations from Boston to Virginia Beach, and most stations were coming in strongly. A station 150 miles away interfered with a local 100 watt translator when I could see the translator's tower (and the translator itself was picking up tropo on its input frequency).

Sounds like a great time. DXing has been seriously sucking in Ohio, between every frequency being filled with a KLove, Air One, radio U or WCDR translator, the hash from all the HD. Only excitement lately was when Kiss FM in Lexington blasts in on all the KLove translators.

Wow! That's some serious tropo you had there. I'm with gr8 when I say this summer has been lousy for tropo (i'm in Southern Michigan). With the exception of 60+ mile LPFM/translator catches on July 1st and July 21st and logging KQRC 98.9 Kansas City on July 18th, there has been absolutely nothing to speak of in the tropo world.

Maybe August will finally bring some Tr to the midwest.
