Amber Sullins Named Chief Met at ABC15

tvjobs.com is reporting (press release from Napoli) that Amber Sullins has been named Chief Met at KNXV. What do you think about this development?

And, does it mean that Sarah Walters has a shot at being hired as the morning met?

I could have sworn I heard Katie Raml refer to Rich Dalquist as Chief Meteorologist. God I hope I'm not loosing it. ??? ??? ??? ???
I wonder if she will be moving to nights now that she is Chief Meteorologist? She does have the chops to be the alpha dog at KNXV. Good luck and congratulations to her. Soon we will find out what, if any shake ups occur at KNXV.

Okay, here is an excerpt from the announcement: AMS sealed CBM, Amber Sullins is promoted to chief meteorologist at KNXV in Phoenix. Amber grew up in Phoenix and attended the University of Arizona. She's been with the station for the past two years delivering her forecasts each weekday morning.

Sarah Walters, wrote this morning: "Hangin' with Amber Sullins this morning at ABC15...training for the morning show. She's been promoted to Chief Meteorologist so I will be filling in on the AM show starting tomorrow."

Connie Colla mentioned it just before 7am and congratulated Amber on her promotion and move to evenings. I was wondering if Sarah would be filling the am slot -- hopefully the "fill-in" will become permanent. 12 News' loss is ABC15's gain!

Not to detract from Amber's celebration, but 12 News is a trainwreck right now.

I actually feel sorry for Faye -- she on the amateur hour in the mornings. Then, there's the repetitive and useless East Van Buren Live. And then there's the overly-emotional Lin Sue Cooney with the former-sports-guy-turned-Ron-Burgundy Mark Curtis. And don't get me started on the 12 Weather team (Jimmy Q and recorded weather from Accuweather is the best they can do???).

Amber Sullins has been doing a journeyman's quality job at Ch. 15. She deserves kudos and positive recognition.

Sarah was doing the weather this morning. Never saw her before today (I don't get out much ;D ). I hope she is the new morning person. I like Amber, and love the fact she got promoted.
