AMC doing right with the Complete Bond

I am almost in shock as AMC is showing The James Bond series in both full frame and Wide Screen, Yes, I will say it again... in Wide Screen. Other than DVD_TV they have only shown one other wide screen movie in the past few years, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly a couple years ago.
Yes, the comercials are still there, but this is a surprising turn from what treatments they have been giving movies in the past few years or so.
Unfortunately, I do not see anything on the schedule for next month other than the usual DVD_TV movie. I hope viewers show thier appreciation by spiking the ratings for the Wide Screen versions.

Even better was when Encore had them several months back, in widescreen and commercial-free.<P ID="signature">______________

AND they were all in Dolby Digital 5.1. I DVR'ed many of them. I am not that big of a Bond fan, but it was when they ran them all in order back-to-back. I think it took them a good day and a half.

One small step ...

To this viewer, although I know what AMC is after, the channel is just a shell of itself from a few years ago.

What bugs me the most about AMC & others like TNT/TBS. Whenever
they air Smokey & The Bandit (1977) which by todays standards is
very tame. They always air the version with the swears taken out.

I started this post as I am hoping that AMC is reading comments like these from those of us who want to see it improve. Showing the James Bond films in letterbox is a great baby step (although I wish they would show them more than once in this format) and I would love to see them treat more films with this respect. That includes showing movies unedited (at least not the same "edited for TV" versions that were cut 25 years ago) and in widescreen. I could take the commericials (since I watch them on Tivo anyway) if the movies were presented correctly.
