American Dad season already over?

I thought American Dad was supposed to air their 100th episode in May. I read on Wikipedia that American Dad's final episode of the season was back in February and it was episode 90 something. Right now, Sons of Tuscon airs in American Dad's time slot. Will American Dad have any more new episodes this season?

I believe the plan is to bring back "American Dad" in either April or May, if indeed they are slated to air its 100th episode in a couple of months. Fox is trying to get the "Family Guy" audience to sample its new series like "Sons of Tucson" (same thing they do for the shows that follow "American Idol" at times) so this is likely temporary... although I read on TVByTheNumbers.com that the ratings for the debut episode of "Sons" was so horrible, it may be a goner very, very soon... at which point you could see reruns of "American Dad" before new episodes resume.

FOX just needs to stick with the whole animated Sunday line-up... and they need to find a replacement for "The Cleveland Show" or whatever they are calling it. It's simply not funny.

I agree, I can't even watch "Cleveland" anymore. But the thing is the show does have potential. The characters aren't bad, they are just not given anything interesting to say or do. Everything "Cleveland" and his buds do has been covered by "Family Guy," and "American Dad," (and covered better).

I think Seth is capable of doing better and the show could be good, if they made it different from Seth's other shows

You're asking a leopard to change it's spots.
Dude gets paid truckloads either way.
Why should he bother to include content?

You're the sucker that continues to watch it.
Seth cashes in checks meanwhile.

I think Seth has way too many shows in my opinion. Family Guy and American Dad were enough. The Cleveland show just existing is about as much of an overkill as Seth's liberal views are being promoting in all of his shows. At least in the past, The Simpsons tried to keep the politics balanced although they still end up leaning to the left in the show. I don't know if that policy has changed recently since I stop watching the entire block shortly after King of the Hill got canned for the Cleveland show.

On that note, I wished the last two King of the Hill episodes on Fox wasn't center around my least favorite character of the show, Bobby Hill. I can tolerate the rest of the characters' flaws, not Bobby's lameness and his awful voice all in the same show.

It helps that a lot of liberals are on that show's cast - I think virtually every female voice talent on that show as well as Harry Shearer* lean that way, if I'm not mistaken.

I hope there is more American Dad this season. I think Francine is better looking than Lois Griffin.

Dude, they're cartoons! :D

That being said, Lois is hotter. ;)

This thread is a textbook example of why Wikipedia should not be trusted without additional backup. Of course there's more "American Dad" this season. However, Fox is using this non-sweeps period to trot out "Sons of Tucson" and to give it the strong lead-in of "Family Guy" to see if it will take off. After 2 weeks, the jury's out on that one as far as I am concerned.

But yes, "American Dad" will indeed be back and the 100th episode will indeed be in May. This isn't the first time that Fox has given "Dad" a rest for a few weeks and it won't be the last. As for "Cleveland," it's had a few funny moments during the last few episodes - but I keep waiting for it to be *good*. It feels like it has a lot of potential, but isn't quite there yet. It's not bad - but it hasn't gelled yet either. I am being patient because I felt the same way about "Family Guy" and "American Dad" (although "Dad" is still hit and miss at times).

I watched the first couple of episodes then I gave up on the show when I realize it had the same formula as Family Guy and American Dad. In my opinion, The Simpsons and Futurama are a great example of how two shows from the same creator should be set up.

While it has the same formula, and some of the stuff may be repetitive from Family Guy, it does have its funny moments. Not many of them, but it does have its funny moments.

Looks like the original poster of this thread is going to get his/her wish: Fox has cancelled Sons of Tucson!
http://tvbythenumbers.com/2010/04/05/sons-of-tucson-canceled/47392

Fox has yanked the low-rated Sons of Tucson off the schedule and will just shift American Dad back into the Sunday 9:30p time slot.

Fox plans to burn off the remaining Sons of Tucson episodes this summer on Sundays at 7:30pm.

You know, that's a shame. We actually liked Sons of Tucson - it's a better show than a lot of the crap that passes for hit TV. Can't help but wonder if FOX was a little too quick to pull the trigger on this one. Just imagine if NBC had that attitude in 1989 with Seinfeld. Sometimes it can take a show a little while to gel. Frankly this one was more amusing than Cleveland, though I think that both had potential.

And, for the record, it was never meant to replace American Dad - just AD reruns. They were giving it a rest, it was never "pulled" in favor of the new show. Fox hoped that, by having SOT follow Family Guy, the new show would get a boost. Apparently, it didn't.

The other show had potential. A 13-year-old in charge of his older brother, his younger brother and his fake father who was a loser. Should have worked. I read they had a talented cast, and I believed it.
