So I noticed that "American Dad" has been off the FOX schedule for the past 3 weeks. How many episodes were ordered? Personally, I thought the show make significant improvements since that not-that-great pilot episode that aired after the Super Bowl.

Did FOX put it on hiatus while it's being retooled or was this planned? I remember reading that since FOX brought back 'Family Guy', the network has had pretty impressive Sunday night numbers (IIRC, 1 week they were #2 18-54 beating CBS).

i wonder the same thing, but seth ,acfarland created family guy to try and capture the essence of family guy, but once FG returned it kinda just blew American dad away..

although both shows are doing suprisingly well on Cartoon Network<P ID="signature">______________

Seth McFarlane shows can be summed up this way:

"Family Guy" is a seven course meal.
"American Dad" is the leftovers.

I LOVE the first and don't care for the second.

American Dad needs some work....the premise could be so much more fun ....
and the characters are bit too similar to Family guy....and dump the lady who does the Mom's voice...

Yeah, so far AD seems to be doomed to be to "Family Guy" what "Futurama" was
to "The Simpsons". But the show does have its moments, and at least it beats the hell out of "The Princes of Malibu".

voice is reminiscent of Hanna-Barbera voice Joan Gerber, who played the mom on H-B's animated sitcom Wait Till Your Father gets Home.

They're saving new episodes for Fall. September 11th will be the season premiere of both Family Guy and American Dad. Both shows have 25 episodes left to air for the 2005-06 season.

Fox has also ordered 22 additional episodes of Family Guy for the 2006-07 season.
