They actually launched their acquisition of American Gladiators last Saturday with a marathon from 1PM-8PM Eastern. It was hosted by Danny Lee Clark (formerly known as Dan Clark; he was the American Gladiator Nitro).
Never saw the first season before Saturday. With the terrible sets (i.e., Assault), the ref dressed up as an executioner, and JOE THEISMANN (what the hell were they thinking), how did that show get picked up for a second season?

I was an avid viewer of American Gladiators when it originally aired in syndication and in reruns on USA Network and I was blown away by the ref's attire when I watched the episodes last Saturday! What the hell were they thinking? Thankfully, the show jettisoned what wasn't working and became much better as the seasons progressed.
