American Idol Live 5..Ayla Brown update

I guess if Joe Gallant can post daily Olympic threads, I can post weekly Ayla Brown updates.

American Idol Boston contestant Ayla Brown performed tonite and sang a Christina Aguilera (excuse the spelling) song. She did very well, looked terrific, and Randy, Paula, and Simon were all very pleasantly surprised given that she chose such an "ambitious" song. She kicked some butt in my opinion. In responding to the judges and Ryan Seacrest, she seemed to choose all the right words and spoke very well. That could be from "tv producer coaching", or being the product of a tv reporter mom and state senator dad, or hey, maybe just from being a young woman.

For those who don't know, Ayla's mom is Gail Huff, a reporter for WCVB-TV, Channel 5, in Boston. Dad is Massachusetts state senator Scott Brown. And Ayla is a 17 year old Boston College bound basketball athlete.

The girls are on tonite, the guys go tomorrow. On Thursday, 2 guys and 2 girls get voted off the island.

<font color=green> Haven't caught the show yet this season but hopefully Ms.Brown isn't a melisma singer, which will set her apart from the other R&B clones.<font color=green>

Although "American Idol" is my girlfriend's favorite TV show, and we normally both eagerly watch it, we ended up watching the Olympics, so the past week and a half, 'vetaped "Idol". We've seen last week's shows; we probably won't see this week's shows until Monday.

But thanks for the heads-up about Ayla Brown.

And as previously mentioned on this board, the longer she's in; the more airtime WFXT-25's local newscasts will give to her and "Idol".

When do you have time, Joe?

Gee, Joe, I woulda figured your computer was your girlfriend and this website was your mistress. When exactly have you had time for her amongst nearly 7500 posts??

Re: When do you have time, Joe?

I hate American Idol. I tried watching again last night and it's just horrible. It's Nothing more than Glorified Karaoke. At least drunks in a bar are funny.

Good... Some of those people STUNK!
Not that I'm a fan of Simon and his "you are worthless" type attitude. Even people who don't win, still have talent. A stupid TV show shouldn't determine your success in life, imho.
