sometimes the fastest runner doesn't win... to my amazement Joshua Ledet, was kicked off the show tonight. if you have been watching, Incredible Talent! appearantly Tone Deaf audience. my 2 cents.
Call-in voting is the problem. Idol's producers refuse to upgrade, either to a phone system that allows only one voter per ph# (yes, they can do that now) while blocking calls from unlisted numbers, or to exclusive on-line voting. Votes cast on the internet would register the same identification data used by on-line pollsters to prevent multiple entries. A more drastic measure would be to suspend outside participation altogether, allowing only the studio audience to vote.retrothoughts said:I think they should give the judges more power to counteract the vote-stuffing for the WGWG contestants. Extend that "judge's save" concept to every results show episode. Then, for the finale, the judges are each given a certain number of points to allocate to the finalists, combined with percentage points of viewer votes, to determine the winner.

All good points, Darth, but exploiting the complex layer of contingencies you've envisioned hardly seems likely to happen. Multi-call perps are mostly just kids, most (though not all) of whom are too young and/or computer-skills-challenged for such grandoise, clandestine adventures. Most wouldn't know IP from I-POOP.Darth_vader said:Doesn't mean squat. Assuming it's an "anonymous" vote (meaning one doesn't have to register with the site first), a cookie-based session can always be reset by trashing one's browser cache (F.Y.I., a good habit to get into anyways!) Even IP-tracked sessions can pretty easily be worked around by simply resetting one's transceiver, if one is fortunate enough to be on a system that uses dynamic IP addressing like I am."Votes cast on the internet would register the same identification data used by on-line pollsters to prevent multiple entries."
Yes it is rather obvious Vote For The Worst MUST BE at Work here, Phillip Phillips doesn't have a FRACTION of the Talent Joshua or Jessica has. the Grotesque "Fakey" FACES he makes while ATTEMPTING to sing make me want to puke. IF he happens to win, I'm through with AI. SO if vote for the worst is trying to drive viewers away, they will have done what they set out to do. phillip phillips would make a Great act at The Holiday Inn Lounge in Wheeling West Virginia.Joseph_Gallant said:There is a website called Vote For The Worst that encourages people to vote for the worst possible contestants on those reality competition series where home viewers decide who advances or who wins.
They have been literally gung-ho for Phillip Phillips the last several weeks.
