American top 20/40

A couple thoughts
1. I notice they are using less of the Hot AC jingles and more of the former American top 20 or new AT10 (Casey's coast to coast) jingles.
2. Casey is not announcing every song now. Why?
3. How much longer before Casey hangs up the headphones for good?
The whole program seems to be dying a slow and painful death to me.
Could we see Seacrest do a rebranded Hot AC/Adult top 40 show, call it American top 30, 4 hours, extras, Hollywood stuff, etc? It seems like half the stations that use to carry AT20 are now using Seacrest's Hot AC show instead anyway.
Thoughts?

I was a big fan of AT40 and Casey in growing up in the 80s and 90s. I heard his voice for recently for the first time in several years and was saddened to hear just how "old" he is sounding these days. I was a little surprised to see that he is now 76 years old

Even though he will always have a special place in my heart, it is probably time for him to retire from shows featuring contemporary music.

1. I'm guessing they're using the jingles to freshen up the sound for AT20 HAC. Since, in theory, the AT10 and AT20 audiences are separate entities, listeners would not know or care if they jingles are the same between the shows.

2. There's no official news of why Casey isn't introing the songs like he always used to. My guesses - a) The producers are trying to make the show more "hip" sounding, ala Ryan's shows...or b) Casey doesn't want to or can't spend as much time on the show as he used to.

3. I think as long as Casey wants to do it, he should be able to. However, if he ever wants to retire, I support that too. He definitely has earned a nice retirement. :) Perhaps he's aiming for 2010, his 40th anniversary of counting down the hits.

[This is my 1st post, so please let me explain my username. I'm not in the business, and 'guru' doesn't mean I think I know it all. ;D It's just a fun title. I've been following the HAC charts for many years now as a hobby.]
