American Top 40, the 70's...WMJI gave a false promo

According to what I was hearing on WMJI, this week's edition of AT40, the 70's was supposed to be a special edition from 1972' hosted by Dick Clark. I normally listen to AT40 on KOOL 98.3 in New Jersey and it was a regular edition with Kasey Kasem. I thought maybe this was a WMJI exclusive, but when I tuned in at 9:00, the same thing was there.

I'm disappointed, but not surprised. After all, at 56, I am no longer part of the money demo.....

Right before the show started, a local voice came on announcing that this special edition was in memory of Dick Clark, and the only time he subbed for Casey Kasem. The actual countdown that aired was from 1979. Even within the show, the local announcer's obviously pre-recorded message, still aired. I guess Clear Channel didn't have a clear picture of which countdown they actually had. Can somebody clear things up about what happened? They obviously were quite sure they were going to have the Dick Clark hosted countdown. How is the show delivered to member stations?

WMJI's broadcast of AT-40 the 70s has been a mess, at least on line. The first portion of the program competes with some other run of a show and/or ads, and it is unlistenable. This happened every week until I finally stopped listening to their stream and moved to another station where apparently they give a damn.

I usually listen to AT40, the 70's on KOOO in Lincoln, Ne, from the Tune in app on my iPhone. Comes on at 7am on Sunday.
