American Top 40 with Casey Kasem on 950 KPRC

Wanted to find out when this started? I caught it around 10 last Saturday night when Casey was at number 13. Really enjoyed hearing some of the old 70's tunes that are obsolete on radio today. It sounded like a countdown from around '75 or so. Is this going to be a regular treat, or just a temporary solution to an open shift?

Premiere Radio syndicates the old shows... it's awesome. Not sure if it's going to be a regular treat, but with KPRC in HD, GREAT move! I dig it.

What I do not understand is why in the heck they would put a MUSIC show on an AM radio station with most of its high end audio cut off !! I heard the show a week or so ago on KPRC and it sounded awful. Why don't they put it on KODA 99.1 or something.

I haven't listened to KODA for any length of time for the last few months, but if I am correct, they have the current Casey Kasem Top 10 airing on Saturdays at 7 a.m. I think re-airing some of the classic American Top 40 countdowns would be a great thing for Sunny's Sunday night; anything is better than Sunday night with Delilah! (DULL)

DirecTV on their XM music channels (the channels in the 800s) do have several of the older countdowns, which I guess is just XM's feed over the satellite system. I've heard some countdowns from the mid-80s on the XM 80's channel and some even older than that on the other channels, too.

XM runs the old AT40 Countdowns on the 70's and 80's channels. They do a different date each week. It's great to listen to the old shows again.

Last I checked, KPRC (along with KBME) cut their HD transmission off at sunset. Have they changed this? I can only receive KPRC during daytime hours so I cannot tell if they are on at night.

XM plays it every Saturday 11:30A-1:30P. It is great. I wouldn't listen to it on AM. Good idea CC, but wrong station.
