Amherst, NS (May 1, 1974)

from Amherst Citizen

2 CKCW-ATV/CTV Moncton
3 CBHT Halifax
4 CCTV4 Community Channel
5 CJCH-ATV/CTV Halifax
6 WLBZ-NBC Bangor
7 CHSJ-CBC Saint John
9 WEMT-ABC Bangor
11 CBAFT-SRC Moncton
13 CBCT-CBC Charlottetown

FM services aired on ch 8, 10 and 12...IIRC stations were CKWM Kentville, CKCL-FM Truro and CHFX Halifax.

WABI wasn't listed in the Maritimes edition of TV Guide until fall 1976; it was only available in larger centres. We didn't get CBS in Amherst until CANCOM launched in the early 80s (WJBK Detroit, followed by WTOL Toledo, and now we get Boston stations on cable).

And another important thing to mention...until the mid 70s, WLBZ and WEMT were played on videotapes recorded off-air in Chamcook, NB and bicycled to cablecos across the Maritimes. WMED Calais had a split personality...the off-air feed was in tandem with Presque Isle sister WMEM, but the cable feed aired on a 1 week delay!
